Vesna Pusić "The International Community and the Future of Conflict Intervention"

Vesna Pusić currently serves as the Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament and the honorary president of the Croatian People’s Party - Liberal Democrats. Ms. Pusić is also a current candidate for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations. She is an active and passionate advocate of European integration, gender equality, and LGBT rights. In 1979, Ms. Pusić co-founded the first women’s rights organization in the former Yugoslavia, and in 1992 she co-founded Erasmus Guild, a non-partisan think-tank on the culture of democracy. In 2000, Ms. Pusić was elected as a member of the Croatian Parliament where she served for three consecutive terms. Additionally, Dr. Pusić served as the First Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs in the Cabinet of former Croatian Prime Minister, Zoran Milanović.
